Cleveland, Ohio (June 19, 2008) – American Greetings Corporation (NYSE: AM) today announced a new online sweepstakes offering consumers a chance to redeem daily prizes. The “Sounds Funny to Me” sweepstakes will begin today and run through August 31, 2008. Consumers simply need to go to www.americangreetings.com/retailers, create an account and log in daily for the chance at either a $100 gift card to their favorite retailer, or a $10 gift card to be used at iTunes®.

One winner per day will be awarded the $100 retail gift card, and five iTunes® gift cards will be distributed per day. Consumers not taking home either of the top two prizes will still receive the opportunity to download a special card coupon good for their favorite American Greetings cards retailer. Consumers can log in daily but are only eligible for one prize per day.

In addition to the daily prizes, consumers can also send a free funny e-greeting from the site, to share a little humor with family and friends.

The sweepstakes is sponsored by American Greetings to help introduce its newest funny cards that are now available. The card aisle is literally filled with hilarity this summer. Highlights include new licenses such as SouthPark and Family Guy, fresh offerings that find the humor in the real-life situations everyone can relate to and new political humor cards that celebrate the upcoming election with the levity that it, and voters, deserve.
